National Head of Formalities
Sally entered the patent profession working at the UK Intellectual Property Office in South Wales, where she was the Formalities Manager in the Mechanical Division for eight years.
In 1996, she joined the Sheffield Office of a top-five law firm, as Formalities Manager. Sally dealt with all aspects of formalities work including maintaining the database; executing an overseas filing programme; providing, completing and dispatching appropriate documentation overseas; and monitoring provision of documentation for each territory in order to ensure complex formalities throughout the world were met.
In June 2000, Sally joined HGF as a Partner of HGF Services. In 2004, she was promoted to National Head of Formalities, taking on responsibility for the formalities and renewals functions across the firm’s five UK offices, the development and maintenance of a procedural manual to ensure that standard procedures are documented and adhered to, as well as the development of international client relationships.
Sally is a member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Agents and has passed the CIPA Formalities Administrator Course with a credit.
