Richard has extensive experience in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications in the fields of analogue and digital electronics, semiconductor devices, telecommunication systems, fibre-optics, computer-implemented inventions, electrical and electromechanical devices, medical devices, and power generation.
Richard graduated in physics from Oxford University. He then went on to obtain his doctorate in applied superconductivity at Oxford’s Clarendon Laboratory, where he also pursued post-doctoral research to develop high-temperature superconducting magnets for MAGLEV applications. Whilst in his research position, Richard also worked on the undergraduate electronics practical course. Richard previously worked for a respected firm of patent and trade mark agents and is a qualified Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney. In 2007 Richard joined HGF.
