Technical Assistant
Adam graduated with a BSc in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Warwick in 2002. Following graduation Adam moved to Oxford to work as an organic chemist for a pharmaceutical company and then returned to academia to undertake an MSc in Toxicology at Birmingham University. Remaining in Birmingham, he then completed a PhD in metabolomics and continued further post-doctoral research in this field.
Adam’s PhD project and post-doctoral research involved the development of metabolomics, a sophisticated technique to study an organism’s metabolism, for environmental monitoring purposes. Key findings included the identification of specific metabolites that could be used to assess the impact of pollution on marine organisms.
This led to four publications from his PhD thesis and three further publications from subsequent post-doctoral research. Adam’s degree enabled him to develop specialist knowledge of chemistry which was further supplemented by an understanding of biochemistry and toxicology gained from his masters course.
Adam joined the York office of Harrison Goddard Foote in August 2009 to train as a patent attorney. His professional interests lie in the field of pharmaceuticals, chemistry and biotechnology.
