Jason has practiced in intellectual property since 1994, specialising in the technical areas of physics, engineering and electronics, with specialisations in telecommunications, wireless communication, wound therapy and flexible pipe technologies. Research experience includes the specialised fields of cryogenics, laser science and glass technology.

Professional experience includes written and oral representations before the European Patent Office in ex parte and inter partes Examination, Opposition and Appeal proceedings. In addition, Jason has litigation experience at the UK Patent Office. Further experience includes opinion work and portfolio management, patent landscape management and global litigation support.

Having left the University of Liverpool where he studied physics, Jason attended the College of Law in York where he studied a broad range of legal subjects. Subsequently, Jason joined a respected London based private practice of patent and trademark attorneys where he subsequently qualified as a Chartered Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney and European Trade Mark Attorney.

Jason relocated to the North of England and to the Leeds office of Harrison Goddard Foote in 2002, joining the firm as a Partner.

Jason is the National Head of the firm’s Engineering and Nanotechnology Practice Groups and manages the York office of HGF.
